Workshop on Recognising Feelings and Safe Space
The interactive session was facilitated by Dr. Arti Girdhar, Founder and President of Anon Global Foundation, who specializes in creating child-friendly awareness modules on emotional wellbeing and personal safety.
Dr. Girdhar began the session with engaging storytelling that helped young learners identify basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, fear and surprise. Through expressive actions and behaviour-based demonstrations, she encouraged children to recognise how emotions appear in themselves and others. This helped them understand that all feelings are valid and can be expressed in healthy ways.

The workshop also included creative activities using animal characters, where students observed how different animals protect themselves from danger. These examples were used to gently introduce the idea of maintaining one’s own safe space and trusting their instincts.A crucial part of the session was the introduction of a “body-guard word”—a special safety code that children can use to alert parents or teachers when they feel uncomfortable, threatened or unsure. This empowered students to communicate openly and seek help without fear.
Overall, the workshop was well-structured, age-appropriate and highly engaging. It successfully enhanced students’ emotional awareness while equipping them with simple yet essential strategies to ensure their personal safety.
